Joy Chaney
Joy has always loved wearing and working with face makeup
since her teenage years.  She is known for her talent
with makeup artistry involving bright, bold colors colors
of various hues as well as using dark pigments such as black
or navy blue on the eyes.  Taking pictures has been a
longtime hobby of hers, however; only recently has Joy been experimenting with photography as art.  The use of light
and dark is present in her collection of photos entitled 'FACES'.
In each, both brightness and darkness are captured visually and metaphorically.  Joy has been inspired by the photos spreads
of fashion magazines, the works of Pablo Picasso and
architect Antoni Gaudi, as well as Leonardo DaVinci's Mona Lisa.

Mario Farrugia
Slide Show
Born on a small island called Malta, Mario bought his first
camera when he was 16 years old. His favorite genres
include nature, travel and portrait photography.
Mario also works as a freelance photographer shooting event
and modeling photographs. He considers himself
as a link between the subject and the audience: he tries
to connect to the subject in order to bring out that which
is unique and inspiring.
Mario enjoys traveling, surfing and discovering new experiences!
He currently lives in the Washington DC area.
The photos displayed show scenes in Malta, Vietnam and Hawaii
using a Canon EOS 5. The modeling photos were shot in the Washington DC area using a Canon EOS 1000F (film)
and Fuji print film which was converted into digital format during processing.

Sharon Grau

Patterns of humans – Nature of Patterns
Sharon Grau’s main interests for compositions are people and
images from the natural world. These pieces contrast patterns
in nature with manmade patterns. They are a meditation into
the need for humans to find order in chaos. The natural world
appears to peacefully find order within disorder; its patterns bend
and curve. Human beings, however, seem to feel a need to
control and dominate the natural world, while at the same time mirroring it (to the point of destruction). These tendencies can
be seen in our straight patterns, seen in the photograph of
the fence, and our landfills, which resemble limestone reefs in the
sea; the acrylic paintings are a juxtaposed abstraction of a
limestone reef with a landfill.

King Yan Fina
   Slide Show
In photography, I observe the texture on my subjects.
While light creates contrast and shadow on the subjects,
surfaces build a beautiful and interesting connection between us.
It is as if we are communicating through our skin.

Painting

Lisa DeHart
Lisa DeHart, now painting under the nom de plume of Madeline Moon, received a classical art education at Mason Gross School of the Arts, an affiliate of Rutgers University. During that time she developed her pre-existing illustration and painting skills, and also discovered her unique ability to paint original pieces from scratch in Photoshop.
She has worked professionally as a commercial graphic designer and illustrator; however, her true passion is derived from creating works of dark romantic fantasy inspired by the Pre-Raphaelite and Art Nouveau artists such as John William Waterhouse, Alphonse Mucha and Arthur Rackham.
